Acute cough due to variety of causes, especially dry cough, suppression of preoperative and postoperative cough in surgery and bronchoscopy. whooping cough.
Butamirate 5 description
Each sustained-release film-coated tablet contains 50 mg of Butamirate 5. Each teaspoonful (5 mL) syrup contains 7.5 mg of Butamirate 5.
Butamirate 5 dosage
The maximum duration of treatment without doctor's prescription is one week.
Tablet: Adolescents Over 12 Years of Age: 1 or 2 tablets daily.
Adults: 2 or 3 tablets daily at 8 or 12 hour intervals. To be swallowed whole.
Syrup: Children 3 to 6 Years of Age: One teaspoonful (5 mL) 3 times daily.
Children 6 to 12 Years of Age: Two (2) teaspoonfuls (10 mL) 3 times daily.
Adolescents Over 12 Years of Age: One tablespoonful (15 mL) 3 times daily.
Adults: 15 mL 4 times daily.
Wash and dry the graduated cup after each use and between different users.
Butamirate 5 interactions
Simultaneous administration of an expectorant or a mucolvtic.
Butamirate 5 side effects
Rash, nausea, diarrhoea and vertigo have been observed in a few cases ( approximately 1%).

Hypersensitivity to Butamirat citrate or any of it is ingredients Fructose intolerance in children.
