What happens if I overdose Dolean?
Contact 1-800-222-1222 (the American Association of Poison Control Centers), your local, or emergency room immediately. Symptoms may include bluish skin or nails; cold and clammy skin; coma; decreased urination; fainting; limp muscles; loss of consciousness; nausea or vomiting; pinpoint pupils; seizures; severe dizziness, drowsiness, or light-headedness; slow heartbeat; slow, shallow, or difficult breathing; symptoms of liver problems (eg, dark urine, pale stools, persistent loss of appetite, unusual or severe stomach pain, yellowing of the skin or eyes); unusual bruising or bleeding; unusual sweating or tiredness.
Proper storage of Dolean/ Codeine (Dolean):
Store Dolean/ Codeine (Dolean) at room temperature, between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C), in a tightly closed container. Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Dolean/ Codeine (Dolean) out of the reach of children and away from pets.

Dolean should be given with caution to patients with head injuries, acute abdominal conditions, severe hepatic or renal dysfunction.
What should I discuss with my healthcare provider before taking Dolean?
Some medical conditions may interact with Dolean/ Codeine (Dolean). Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:
- if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
- if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
- if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances
- if you are allergic to other narcotic medicines (eg, hydrocodone, morphine, oxycodone)
- if you have severe drowsiness, or you have or recently had any head injury, increased pressure in the brain, growths in the brain (eg, tumors), or an infection of the brain or nervous system
- if you have a history of heart problems (eg, cor pulmonale, slow or irregular heartbeat), low blood pressure, stomach or bowel problems (eg, blockage, inflammation, paralysis), inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis), gallbladder problems, liver problems (eg, hepatitis), kidney problems, seizures, thyroid problems, adrenal gland problems (eg, Addison disease), curvature of the spine (scoliosis), prostate problems (eg, an enlarged prostate), or trouble urinating
- if you have asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or other lung or breathing problems
- if you have recently had surgery (eg, stomach or bowel surgery) or are scheduled to have surgery
- if you are in very poor health, are very overweight, are dehydrated or have low blood volume, or have stomach pain or constipation
- if you drink alcohol; have a history of drug or alcohol abuse or dependence, mood or mental problems, or suicidal thoughts or actions; or are going through withdrawal from alcohol or other substances
Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Dolean/ Codeine (Dolean). Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:
- Isoniazid, other narcotic pain medicines (eg, morphine), perampanel, or sleep medicines (eg, zolpidem) because they may increase the risk of Dolean/ Codeine (Dolean)'s side effects
- Buprenorphine, naltrexone, or quinidine because they may decrease Dolean/ Codeine (Dolean)'s effectiveness
- Anticoagulants (eg, warfarin) or sodium oxybate (GHB) because the risk of their side effects may be increased by Dolean/ Codeine (Dolean)
- Medicines that may harm the liver (eg, methotrexate, ketoconazole, certain medicines for HIV infection) because the risk of liver side effects may be increased. Ask your doctor if you are unsure if any of your medicines might harm the liver
This may not be a complete list of all interactions that may occur. Ask your health care provider if Dolean/ Codeine (Dolean) may interact with other medicines that you take. Check with your health care provider before you start, stop, or change the dose of any medicine.
Dolean precautions
Liver or kidney disorders, Addison's disease, phaeochromocytoma, inflammatory bowel disease, gall bladder disease or gall stones, recent surgery on GIT or urinary system, enlarged prostate gland, epilepsy, head injury or raised intracranial pressure, underactive thyroid gland, muscle weakness (myasthenia gravis), low BP or shock, alcoholism, drug abuse or dependence or mental illness. Pregnancy & lactation. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery.
