What happens if I overdose Gelika?
Contact 1-800-222-1222 (the American Association of Poison Control Centers), your local poison control center, or emergency room immediately.
Proper storage of Gelika chewable tablets:
Store Gelika chewable tablets at room temperature, between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C). Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Avoid temperatures above 104 degrees F (40 degrees C). Keep Gelika chewable tablets out of the reach of children and away from pets.
Overdose of Gelika in details
If someone has overdosed and has serious symptoms such as passing out or trouble breathing, call 911. Otherwise, call a poison control center right away. US residents can call their local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. Canada residents can call a provincial poison control center.
Notes
Keep all regular medical and laboratory appointments.
If you experience problems with gas, diet changes such as limiting foods known to cause gas and bloating (e.g., beans, cabbage, high-fat foods) or using digestive enzymes may be helpful. Ask your doctor or a dietician for help in reviewing your diet.
Belching may be caused by swallowing too much air. Eating/drinking quickly, chewing gum, and smoking can cause you to swallow more air.
Missed Dose
If you are taking this product on a regular schedule and miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.
Storage
Store at room temperature between 59-86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from moisture, heat, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Refer to storage information printed on the package. If you have any questions about storage, ask your pharmacist. Keep all medicines away from children and pets.
Do not flush medications down the toilet or pour them into a drain unless instructed to do so. Properly discard this product when it is expired or no longer needed. Consult your pharmacist or local waste disposal company for more details about how to safely discard your product.
What should I avoid while taking Gelika?
Ask a doctor or pharmacist before using any other stomach medicine or antacid. Gelika is contained in many combination medicines. Taking certain products together can cause you to get too much Gelika.
Gelika warnings
Before taking calcium carbonate,
* tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to calcium carbonate or any other drugs.
* tell your doctor and pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription medications you are taking, especially digoxin (Lanoxin), etidronate (Didronel), phenytoin (Dilantin), tetracycline (Sumycin), and vitamins. Do not take calcium carbonate within 1-2 hours of taking other medicines. Calcium may decrease the effectiveness of the other medicine.
* tell your doctor if you have or have ever had kidney disease or stomach conditions.
* tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking calcium carbonate, call your doctor.
What should I discuss with my healthcare provider before taking Gelika?
Some medical conditions may interact with Gelika chewable tablets. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:
- if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
- if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
- if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances
- if you have phenylketonuria
Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Gelika chewable tablets. However, no specific interactions with Gelika chewable tablets are known at this time.

Gelika precautions
Before taking Gelika, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.
This medicine may contain aspartame. If you have phenylketonuria (PKU) or any other condition that requires you to restrict your intake of aspartame (or phenylalanine), consult your doctor or pharmacist about using this drug safely.
This medicine may contain sugar. If you have diabetes, consult your doctor or pharmacist about using this drug safely.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before using this medication.
It is not known if this medication passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
What happens if I miss a dose of Gelika?
Since Gelika is used on an as needed basis, you are not likely to miss a dose. Do not use more of this medication than is directed.
