Store Hidroquinona America cream at room temperature, between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C). Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Keep Hidroquinona America cream out of the reach of children and away from pets.
Overdose of Hidroquinona America in details
There have been no systemic reactions from the use of topical Hidroquinona America in SunVanish in recommended quantities. However, treatment should be limited to relatively small areas of the body at one time since some patients experience a transient skin reddening and a mild burning sensation which does not preclude treatment, but indicates caution is warranted.
What should I avoid while taking Hidroquinona America?
Avoid exposure to sunlight or tanning beds. Hidroquinona America topical can make you sunburn more easily. Wear protective clothing and use sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) when you are outdoors. Some Hidroquinona America products may contain sunscreen. Check the medicine label or ask your doctor to be sure.
Avoid getting this medicine in your eyes.
Hidroquinona America topical may make your skin more sensitive to weather extremes such as cold and wind. Protect your skin with clothing and use a moisturizing lotion as needed.
Using Hidroquinona America topical together with benzoyl peroxide, hydrogen peroxide, or other peroxide products may stain your skin. This staining can usually be removed with soap and water.
Avoid using skin products that can cause irritation, such as harsh soaps, shampoos, or skin cleansers, hair coloring or permanent chemicals, hair removers or waxes, or skin products with alcohol, spices, astringents, or lime.
Hidroquinona America warnings
General -
Test for skin sensitivity before using by applying a small amount to an unbroken patch of skin; check within 24 hours. Minor redness is not a contraindication, but where there is itching or vesicle formation or excessive inflammatory response, further treatment is not advised. Close patient supervision is recommended.
Hidroquinona America is a skin bleaching agent which may produce unwanted cosmetic effects if not used as directed. The physician should be familiar with the contents of this insert before prescribing or dispensing this medication.
Information for Patients -
Sunscreen use is an essential aspect of Hidroquinona America therapy because even minimal sunlight sustains melanocytic activity. To prevent repigmentation, during treatment and maintenance therapy, sun exposure on treated skin should be avoided by application of a broad spectrum sunscreen (SPF 15 or greater) or by use of protective clothing.
Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
Keep this and all medications out of reach of children. In case of accidental ingestion, call a physician or a poison control center immediately.
Drug Interactions -
Patients are cautioned on concomitant use of medications that are known to be photosensitizing.
Carcinogenesis, Mutagenesis, Impairment of Fertility -
Studies of Hidroquinona America in animals have demonstrated some evidence of carcinogenicity. The carcinogenic potential of Hidroquinona America in humans is unknown.
Published studies have demonstrated that Hidroquinona America is a mutagen and a clastogen. Treatment with Hidroquinona America has resulted in positive findings for genetic toxicity in the Ames assay in bacterial strains sensitive to oxidizing mutagens, in in vitro studies in mammalian cells, and in the in vivo mouse micronucleus assay.
Pregnancy:
Teratogenic Effects:Pregnancy Category C -
Animal reproduction studies have not been conducted with topical Hidroquinona America. It is also not known whether topical Hidroquinona America can cause fetal harm when administered to a pregnant woman or can affect reproduction capacity.
Topical Hidroquinona America should be given to a pregnant woman only if clearly needed.
Nursing Mothers -
It is not known whether this drug is excreted in human milk. Because many drugs are excreted in human milk, caution should be exercised when topical Hidroquinona America is administered to a nursing woman.
Pediatric Use -
Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients below the age of 12 years have not been established.
What should I discuss with my healthcare provider before taking Hidroquinona America?
Some medical conditions may interact with Hidroquinona America cream. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:
- if you are planning to become pregnant or are breast-feeding
- if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
- if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances
Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Hidroquinona America cream. However, no specific interactions with Hidroquinona America cream are known at this time.
This may not be a complete list of all interactions that may occur. Ask your health care provider if Hidroquinona America cream may interact with other medicines that you take. Check with your health care provider before you start, stop, or change the dose of any medicine.

B. Avoid contact with eyes, nose, mouth, and lips. In case of accidental contact, patient should rinse thoroughly with warm water and contact a physician.
C. Keep this and all medication out of the reach of children. In case of accidental ingestion, call a physician or a poison control center immediately.
D. Pregnancy Category C. Animal reproduction studies have not been conducted with topical Hidroquinona America. It is also not known whether Hidroquinona America can cause fetal harm when used topically on a pregnant woman or affect reproductive capacity. It is not known to what degree, if any, topical Hidroquinona America is absorbed systemically.
Topical Hidroquinona America should not be used on pregnant women.
E. Nursing mothers. It is not known whether topical Hidroquinona America is absorbed or excreted in human milk. This product is not recommended for use by nursing mothers.
F. Pediatric usage. Safety and effectiveness in children below the age of 12 years have not been established. Do not use on children under 12 years of age.
What happens if I miss a dose of Hidroquinona America?
Use the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, wait until then to use the medicine and skip the missed dose. Do not use extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
