Isoflurane AbbVie has been assigned to pregnancy category C by the FDA. Animal studies have revealed evidence of fetotoxicity. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Isoflurane AbbVie should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.

There are no data on the excretion of Isoflurane AbbVie into human milk. Because many drugs are excreted in human milk, caution is recommended when Isoflurane AbbVie is administered to a nursing woman.
