Ketoprofen CF has been assigned to pregnancy category C by the FDA. Animal studies failed to reveal evidence of embryotoxicity or teratogenicity except at doses which produced significant maternal toxicity. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. When used late in pregnancy, it may cause premature closure of the ductus arteriosus and prolong labor and delivery. Ketoprofen CF is only recommended for use during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk. Ketoprofen CF should be avoided near term.

Ketoprofen CF breastfeeding

There are no data on the excretion of Ketoprofen CF into human milk. The manufacturer recommends that due to the adverse reaction of prostaglandin-inhibiting drugs on neonates, use in nursing women should be avoided.
