Leerex Dosage
Generic name: Codeine (Leerex) PHOSPHATE 10mg in 5mL, Chlorpheniramine (Leerex) MALEATE 2mg in 5mL

Adults and children 12 years of age and over: 1 to 2 teaspoonfuls (5-10 mL) every 4 to 6 hours. Not to exceed 8 teaspoonfuls in a 24 hour period. Children 6 to under 12 years of age: 1/2 to 1 teaspoonful (2.5 - 5 mL) every 4 to 6hours. Not to exceed 4 teaspoonfuls in a 24 hour period.
*In mild cases or in particularly sensitive patients, less frequent or reduced doses may be appropriate and adequate.

What other drugs will affect Leerex?
Do not take other over-the-counter cough, cold, allergy, diet, or sleep aids while taking Leerex without first talking to your doctor or pharmacist. Other medications may also contain Chlorpheniramine (Leerex), Codeine (Leerex), or other similar drugs. You may accidentally take too much of these medicines.
Leerex may increase the effects of other drugs that cause drowsiness, including antidepressants, alcohol, other antihistamines, pain relievers, anxiety medicines, seizure medicines, and muscle relaxants. Dangerous sedation, dizziness, or drowsiness may occur if Leerex is taken with any of these medications.
Drugs other than those listed here may also interact with Leerex. Talk to your doctor and pharmacist before taking any prescription or over-the-counter medicines, including herbal products.

Some products that may interact with this drug include: anticholinergic drugs (e.g., benztropine, belladonna alkaloids), antihistamines applied to the skin (such as diphenhydramine cream, ointment, spray), cimetidine, MAO inhibitors (isocarboxazid, linezolid, methylene blue, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, rasagiline, selegiline, tranylcypromine), narcotic antagonists (e.g., naltrexone, naloxone), scopolamine, tricyclic antidepressants (e.g., amitriptyline, desipramine).
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you also take drugs that cause drowsiness such as: certain antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine), anti-seizure drugs (e.g., carbamazepine), medicine for sleep or anxiety (e.g., alprazolam, diazepam, zolpidem), muscle relaxants, narcotic pain relievers (e.g., Codeine (Leerex)), psychiatric medicines (e.g., chlorpromazine, risperidone, trazodone). Check the labels on all your medicines (e.g., cough-and-cold products) because they may contain drowsiness-causing ingredients. Ask your pharmacist about the safe use of those products.
This medication may interfere with certain laboratory tests (including amylase/lipase levels), possibly causing false test results. Make sure laboratory personnel and all your doctors know you use this drug.
