Head pediculosis
Adult: A 4% solution is used for treatment.
Child: >6 mth: A 4% solution is used for treatment.

As a skin protectant
Adult: As cream containing Lice Clear 22% w/w and benzalkonium chloride 0.1% w/w. Apply to the affected area several times a day as needed.
Lice Clear description
Lice Clear contains Dimeticone (silicone) 15%, cetyl alcohol (hexadecanol) 5% and glycerol 2%, in a lanolin-free cream base. It also contains methylhydroxybenzoate 0.2% and propylhydroxybenzoate 0.1% as preservatives. It has a pH of 6.
Lice Clear does not contain perfume, lanolin or lanolin derivatives.
Lice Clear dosage
Adults: Improvement of Abdominal Symptoms Due to Gas in the Gastrointestinal Tract: 120-240 mg daily divided into 3 times after or between meals by oral route.
Elimination of Foamy Mucus in the Stomach Prior to Gastric Endoscopy: 40-80 mg with about 10 mL of water at 15-40 min prior to the test by oral route.
Elimination of Gas in the Intestine Prior to Abdominal X-Ray Examination: 120-240 mg daily divided into 3 times after or between meals for 3-4 days prior to the test by oral route.
Some adjustments may be made according to the age and symptom of the patient.
Administration: Lice Clear Drops: Shake and then use.
Lice Clear interactions
Do not take this product if you are presently taking a prescription antibiotic drug of any form of tetracycline.
The rate and/or extent of absorption of many drugs may be increased or decreased when they are used concurrently with antacids.
Therefore, as a general rule, medication should not be taken within one to two hours of an antacid, if possible.
An incomplete list of substances for which the above statement has been shown to apply includes: tetracycline, iron sans, chlorpromazine, levodopa, isoniazid, digoxin, H2-antagonists, indomethacin, nitrofurantin, and dicumard.
An increase in the plasma level of quinidine and possible toxicity may result if alkalization of the urine occurs during antacid therapy.
Lice Clear side effects
Adverse reactions were reported in 16 of 2546 patients (0.63%) treated with Lice Clear. The most frequently observed adverse reactions were soft stools in 8 patients (0.31%), gastric discomfort in 4 patients (0.16%), diarrhea in 3 patients (0.12%) and stomachache in 3 patients (0.12%). No abnormal changes were reported in laboratory tests. (At the end of the re-evaluation.) See Table 2.
Lice Clear contraindications
Tuberculous, viral lesions of the skin (e.g. herpes simplex and varicella); fungal lesions not susceptible to nystatin, facial rosacea, acne vulgaris or perioral dermatitis. Not to be applied to the external auditory canal in patients with perforated tympanic membranes. Do not use on extensive areas to reduce risk of systemic absorption and neomycin-induced ototoxicity. Not recommended for <1 yr.
