What are the possible side effects of Magonat?
All drugs may cause side effects. However, many people have no side effects or only have minor side effects. Call your doctor or get medical help if any of these side effects or any other side effects bother you or do not go away:
- Loose stools (diarrhea).

Side effects of Magonat in details
Stomach upset and diarrhea may occur. Taking this product with a meal helps to reduce these effects. If either of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
If your doctor has directed you to use this medication, remember that he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects.
A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.

What is the most important information I should know about Magonat?
- Lab tests, including Magonat levels, may be performed while you use Magonat. These tests may be used to monitor your condition or check for side effects. Be sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments.
- Magonat should be used with extreme caution in CHILDREN; safety and effectiveness in children have not been confirmed.
- PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Magonat while you are pregnant. It is not known if Magonat is found in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding, check with your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby.
Magonat contraindications
Do NOT use Calcium Carbonate/Magonat if:
you are allergic to any ingredient in Calcium Carbonate/Magonat
you have an increased calcium level in your blood
Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.
