Pregnancy of Medi-Meclizine in details
Based on epidemiologic studies, maternal Medi-Meclizine use has generally not resulted in an increased risk of fetal abnormalities.
Medi-Meclizine breastfeeding
Caution is recommended. Excreted into human milk: Unknown Excreted into animal milk: Data not available Comments: Large doses or more prolonged use may cause effects in the nursing infant or decrease the milk supply, particularly in combination with a sympathomimetic such as pseudoephedrine or before lactation is well established.
Antihistamines in relatively high doses given by injection can decrease basal serum prolactin in non-lactating women and in early postpartum women. However, suckling-induced prolactin secretion is not affected by antihistamine pretreatment in postpartum mothers.
