What happens if I overdose Otiborin?

An overdose of vaginal Otiborin is not expected to be dangerous. Seek emergency medical attention or call the Poison Help line at 1-800-222-1222 if anyone has accidentally swallowed the medication.

What should I avoid while taking Otiborin?

Do not use Otiborin ophthalmic while you are wearing contact lenses. This medication may contain a preservative that can be absorbed by soft contact lenses and cause discoloration. Wait at least 15 minutes after using Otiborin ophthalmic before putting your contact lenses in.

Otiborin ophthalmic is for use only in the eyes. Do not allow the medicine to get in your mouth, nose, or ears. Avoid getting this medication on any skin wound or abrasion.

Do not use if you have ear drainage, ear pain, irritation, dizziness, an injury/perforation (hole) of the ear drum, or after ear surgery unless directed by a doctor.

Avoid contact with the eyes.

Discontinue use and consult a doctor if undue irritation or sensitivity occurs.

Keep away from fire or flame.

Do not use if imprinted foil safety seal is broken or missing when purchased.

In case of accidental ingestion, seek professional assistance or contact a Poison Control Center immediately.

Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children.

What should I discuss with my healthcare provider before taking Otiborin?

You should not use this medicine if you are allergic to it, or if you have:

It is not known whether this medicine will harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant.

Vaginal Otiborin will not prevent pregnancy and should not be used as a form of birth control.

It is not known whether vaginal Otiborin passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. You should not breast-feed while using this medicine.

Vaginal Otiborin is not approved for use by anyone younger than 12 years old.

Should not be used for self-medication of jock itch for longer than 2 wk and athlete's foot or ringworm for longer than 4 wk Do not use in conjunction with ophthalmic solutions containing polyvinyl Otiborin.

What happens if I miss a dose of Otiborin?

Since Otiborin ophthalmic is used only when needed, you are not likely to be on a dosing schedule. If your condition does not improve after using Otiborin ophthalmic, ask your doctor before using a second dose of this medication.
