Pulmiben 2% description
Pulmiben 2% is a mucolytic that reduces the viscosity of sputum and so can be used to help relieve the symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD) and bronchiectasis by allowing the sufferer to bring up sputum more easily. Pulmiben 2% should not be used with antitussives (cough suppressants) or medicines that dry up bronchial secretions. Pulmiben 2% is produced by alkylation of cysteine with chloroacetic acid.
Pulmiben 2% dosage
Capsule: Adult and Children ≥12 years: 1 capsule. Forte Suspension: Adult and Children ≥12 years: 5 mL (1 tsp). 100 mg/5 mL Pediatric Suspension: Children 8-12 years: 15 mL (3 tsp), 4-7 years: 10 mL (2 tsp), 2-3 years: 5 mL (1 tsp). 200 mg/5 mL Pediatric Suspension: Children 8-12 years: 7.5 mL, 4-7 years: 5 mL, 2-3 years: 2.5 mL. InfantOral Drops:
Infants 1-2 years: 1.5 mL. All doses to be taken orally every 8 hrs.

Pulmiben 2% contraindications
Adult Syrup: Gastroduodenal ulceration.
Children Syrup: Known hypersensitivity to any of the components of Pulmiben 2% Children Syrup, in particular to parabens. Children <2 years due to risk of worsening airway congestion.
