What are the possible side effects of Quantrel?
Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Stop using Quantrel and call your doctor at once if you have:

Some of the side effects that can occur with Quantrel may not need medical attention. As your body adjusts to the medicine during treatment these side effects may go away. Your health care professional may also be able to tell you about ways to reduce or prevent some of these side effects. If any of the following side effects continue, are bothersome or if you have any questions about them, check with your health care professional:

- Abdominal or stomach cramps or pain
- diarrhea
- dizziness
- drowsiness
- headache
- irritability
- loss of appetite
- nausea or vomiting
- trouble in sleeping
What is the most important information I should know about Quantrel?
- Quantrel chewable tablets may cause dizziness. Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to Quantrel chewable tablets. Using Quantrel chewable tablets alone, with certain other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or perform other potentially dangerous tasks.
- This infection spreads easily to family members and close contacts. To prevent reinfection: Disinfect toilets and change and wash underwear, bed linens, towels, clothes, and pajamas daily. Wash your hands with soap often during the day, especially before eating and after using the toilet. Do not scratch the infected area or place your fingers in your mouth.
- The entire household should be treated with Quantrel chewable tablets if one individual in the household has pinworms.
- After treatment with Quantrel chewable tablets, clean the bedroom floor by vacuuming or damp mopping.
- If any worms other than pinworms are present or if symptoms persist after treatment with Quantrel chewable tablets, contact your doctor.
- Phenylketonuria patients - Quantrel chewable tablets contains phenylalanine.
- Use Quantrel chewable tablets with extreme caution in CHILDREN younger than 2 years of age. Safety and effectiveness in this age group have not been confirmed.
- PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant while taking Quantrel chewable tablets, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Quantrel chewable tablets during pregnancy. It is unknown if Quantrel chewable tablets is excreted in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you are using Quantrel chewable tablets, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.
Quantrel contraindications
This medicine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the benzimidazole class of compounds or any components of this medicine.
