What are the possible side effects of Robitussin Honey?

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Stop using Robitussin Honey and call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:

• severe dizziness, anxiety, restless feeling, or nervousness;

• confusion, hallucinations; or

• slow, shallow breathing.

Less serious side effects are more likely, such as stomach upset.

Side effects of Robitussin Honey in details

Slight drowsiness/dizziness, nausea, or vomiting may occur. Rarely, some people may experience severe drowsiness/dizziness with normal doses. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

If your doctor has directed you to use this medication, remember that he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects.

A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.

What is the most important information I should know about Robitussin Honey?

• Robitussin Honey may cause drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, or lightheadedness. Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to Robitussin Honey. Using Robitussin Honey alone, with certain other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks.
• If your cough lasts for more than 1 week or comes back, or if you also have a fever, rash, or persistent headache, contact your health care provider. A persistent cough could be a sign of a serious condition.
• Robitussin Honey contains Robitussin Honey. Before you being taking any new prescription or nonprescription medicine, read the ingredients to see if it also contains Robitussin Honey. If it does or if you are not sure, contact your health care provider or pharmacist.
• Diabetes patients - Some brands of Robitussin Honey may contain sugar and affect your blood sugar level. Read the label carefully before using Robitussin Honey.
• Robitussin Honey is not recommended for use in CHILDREN younger than 2 years of age. Safety and effectiveness in this age group have not been confirmed.
• PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: It is unknown if Robitussin Honey can cause harm to the fetus. If you become pregnant while taking Robitussin Honey, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Robitussin Honey during pregnancy. It is unknown if Robitussin Honey is excreted in breast milk. Do not breast-feed while taking Robitussin Honey.

Robitussin Honey contraindications

Respiratory depression, obstructive airway disease, asthma. Acute alcoholism, convulsive disorders, head injuries, comatose patients, raised intracranial pressure. Pregnancy (prolonged use or high doses at term).
