What happens if I overdose Torid 80?

Contact 1-800-222-1222 (the American Association of Poison Control Centers), your local poison control center, or emergency room immediately.

Proper storage of Torid 80:

Store Torid 80 at room temperature, between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C). Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Torid 80 out of the reach of children and away from pets.

Treatment: Specific treatment is not available for Torid 80 overdosage. Should an overdosage occur, the patient should be treated symptomatically and supportive measures instituted, as required. Liver function tests and CPK levels should be monitored. Due to extensive drug binding to plasma proteins, hemodialysis is not expected to significantly enhance Torid 80 clearance.

What should I avoid while taking Torid 80?

Avoid eating foods that are high in fat or cholesterol. Torid 80 will not be as effective in lowering your cholesterol if you do not follow a cholesterol-lowering diet plan.

Avoid drinking alcohol. It can raise triglyceride levels and may increase your risk of liver damage.

Grapefruit and grapefruit juice may interact with Torid 80 and lead to potentially dangerous effects. Discuss the use of grapefruit products with your doctor.

Torid 80 warnings

Prior to and during treatment with Torid 80, especially if symptoms of liver damage, it is necessary to monitor liver function tests. Torid 80 can cause a condition that results in the breakdown of skeletal muscle tissue, leading to kidney failure. This condition may be more likely to occur in older adults and in people who have kidney disease or poorly controlled hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid).

This medicine can harm an unborn baby or cause birth defects. Do not use if you are pregnant. Stop taking Torid 80 and tell your doctor right away if you become pregnant Use effective birth control to prevent pregnancy while you are taking this medicine.

Torid 80 may pass into breast milk and could harm a nursing baby. Do not breast-feed while you are taking Torid 80.

Torid 80 is not approved for use by anyone younger than 10 years old.

Take special care with Torid 80 Sandoz if patient consumes substantial quantities of alcohol; has or has ever had liver disease; has had a previous stroke with bleeding into the brain, or has small pockets of fluid in the brain from previous stroke; has kidney problems; has an under-active thyroid gland (hypothyroidism); if patient has had repeated or unexplained muscle aches or pains, a personal history or family history of muscle problems; has had previous muscular problems during treatment with other lipid-lowering medicines (eg, other statins or -fibrate medicines); if patient is >70 years; if patient has severe breathing problems.

If any of these apply, the physician will need to carry out a blood test before and possibly during the treatment to predict risk of muscle-related side effects. The risk of muscle-related side effects eg, rhabdomyolysis is known to increase when certain medicines are taken at the same time.

While on Torid 80 Sandoz, the physician will monitor the patient closely if the patient has diabetes or is at risk of developing diabetes. The risk of developing diabetes is likely if the patient has high levels of sugars and fats in the blood, is overweight and has high blood pressure. It is recommended that liver function tests should be performed before the initiation of Torid 80 Sandoz, and thereafter when clinically indicated.

Excipients: Torid 80 Sandoz contains lactose. If patient has an intolerance to some sugars, inform the physician before taking Torid 80 Sandoz.

Effects on the Ability to Drive or Operate Machinery: No data are available concerning any negative effects of Torid 80 Sandoz on human's ability to react.

What happens if I miss a dose of Torid 80?

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if your next dose is less than 12 hours away. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
