What are the possible side effects of Traelb?

All drugs may cause side effects. However, many people have no side effects or only have minor side effects. Call your doctor or get medical help if any of these side effects or any other side effects bother you or do not go away:

• Eye irritation.
• Feeling that something is in the eye.
• Itching.
• This medicine may cause eyelash changes like dark eyelashes, thickness, or more eyelashes. Most of the time, these changes go back to normal after Traelb is stopped.

As well as its needed effects, Traelb ophthalmic may cause unwanted side effects that require medical attention.

Major Side Effects

If any of the following side effects occur while taking Traelb ophthalmic, check with your doctor immediately:

More common:

• Eye pain
• itching eye
• redness of the eye
• redness, swelling, or itching of eyelid

Less common:

• Blurred or decreased vision
• burning, dry, or itching eyes
• eye color changes
• redness, pain, or swelling of the eye, eyelid, or inner lining of the eyelid

Minor Side Effects

Some Traelb ophthalmic side effects may not need any medical attention. As your body gets used to the medicine these side effects may disappear. Your health care professional may be able to help you prevent or reduce these side effects, but do check with them if any of the following side effects continue, or if you are concerned about them:

More common:

• Eye discomfort
• feeling of having something in the eye

Less common:

• Acid or sour stomach (heartburn or indigestion)
• blood in the urine
• chest pain or tightness
• dry eyes
• eye discharge or excessive tearing
• faintness or lightheadedness when getting up from a lying or sitting position
• loss of bladder control
• lower back pain
• muscle pain or stiffness
• pain, swelling, or redness in the joints
• pain or burning while urinating
• pelvic pain
• slow or irregular heartbeat (less than 50 beats per minute)

What is the most important information I should know about Traelb?

• Traelb drops is for use in the eye only. Do not get it in your nose or mouth.
• Traelb drops may cause blurred vision or make your eyes more sensitive to light. Use Traelb drops with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it. If your eyes become sensitive to light, wearing sunglasses may help.
• Traelb drops may cause the colored part of your eye (iris) to turn brown. This may be more noticeable if you have lighter-colored eyes (eg, blue, green, grey), but it can also occur in patients who have brown eyes. This change may be permanent. It may not be noticeable for several months to years. If it occurs, you will need to have regular eye examinations. Discuss any questions or concerns with your doctor.
• Traelb drops may cause your eyelids to darken. It may also cause changes in the way that your eyelashes grow (eg, length, thickness, number of lashes). This change may be permanent. Discuss any questions or concerns with your doctor.
• Do NOT use more than the recommended dose without checking with your doctor.
• If you will be having eye surgery, tell your doctor that you use Traelb drops.
• Lab tests, including eye pressure, may be performed while you use Traelb drops. These tests may be used to monitor your condition or check for side effects. Be sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments.
• Traelb drops should be used with extreme caution in CHILDREN; safety and effectiveness in children have not been confirmed.
• PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Traelb drops while you are pregnant. It is not known if Traelb drops is found in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you use Traelb drops, check with your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby.

Traelb contraindications

TRAVATAN® is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Traelb, benzalkonium chloride or any other ingredients in this product
