What are the possible side effects of Tropicamide 0,5% Faure?
Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.
Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur:
Symptoms of too much medicine being absorbed into the body
- Clumsiness or unsteadiness
- confusion
- fast heartbeat
- flushing or redness of face
- hallucinations (seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there)
- increased thirst or dryness of mouth
- skin rash
- slurred speech
- swollen stomach in infants
- unusual behavior, especially in children
- unusual drowsiness, tiredness, or weakness
Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

- sensitivity of eyes to light
- stinging of the eye when the medicine is applied

As well as its needed effects, Tropicamide 0,5% Faure ophthalmic may cause unwanted side effects that require medical attention.
Severity: Moderate
If any of the following side effects occur while taking Tropicamide 0,5% Faure ophthalmic, check with your doctor or nurse as soon as possible:

Minor Side Effects
Some Tropicamide 0,5% Faure ophthalmic side effects may not need any medical attention. As your body gets used to the medicine these side effects may disappear. Your health care professional may be able to help you prevent or reduce these side effects, but do check with them if any of the following side effects continue, or if you are concerned about them:

What is the most important information I should know about Tropicamide 0,5% Faure?
- Tropicamide 0,5% Faure may cause blurred vision or sensitivity to sunlight. Wear sunglasses if you are outside in the bright sunlight. Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous unless you can see clearly.
- If you have an appointment for an eye examination and your doctor has told you that you will receive Tropicamide 0,5% Faure, be sure to make arrangements to have someone drive you home in case your vision is blurry.
- Tropicamide 0,5% Faure may be harmful if swallowed. If you may have taken Tropicamide 0,5% Faure by mouth, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
- Pupil dilation usually reverses within 4 to 8 hours after use, but may last as long as 24 hours.
- Caution is advised when using Tropicamide 0,5% Faure in CHILDREN because they may be more sensitive to its effects, especially mental or mood changes.
- PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Tropicamide 0,5% Faure during pregnancy. It is unknown if Tropicamide 0,5% Faure is excreted in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you are using Tropicamide 0,5% Faure, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.
Tropicamide 0,5% Faure contraindications
PAREMYD® Solution (hydroxyamphetamine hydrobromide/Tropicamide 0,5% Faure ophthalmic solution)1%/0.25% should not be used in patients with angle-closure glaucoma or in those with narrow angles in whom dilation of the pupil may precipitate an attack of angle-closure glaucoma. This product is also contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to any of its components.
