Zyper-T cross the placenta.
Due to pregnancy-induced physiologic changes, some pharmacokinetic properties of Zyper-T may be altered (Bourget 1998). Zyper-T is approved for the treatment of postpartum gynecologic infections, including endometritis or pelvic inflammatory disease, caused by susceptible organisms.
Zyper-T breastfeeding
Piperacillin (Zyper-T) is excreted into human milk in small amounts. There are no data on the excretion of Tazobactam (Zyper-T) into human milk. The manufacturer recommends that caution be used when administering Piperacillin (Zyper-T)-Tazobactam (Zyper-T) to nursing women.
