Attapulgite (Arcapec) has not been formally assigned to a pregnancy category by the FDA. Animal studies have not been reported. There are no controlled data on human pregnancy. Attapulgite (Arcapec) is only recommended for use during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk.

There are no data on the excretion of Attapulgite (Arcapec) into human milk. Attapulgite (Arcapec) is not absorbed, therefore presence in breast milk is unlikely. Attapulgite (Arcapec) use is generally accepted as safe during breast-feeding.
