How should I use Benzoin?
Use Benzoin tincture as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.
- Dry the affected area. Saturate a cotton applicator with Benzoin tincture, then apply it to the affected area as directed. Do not dilute the medicine.
- If you miss a dose of Benzoin tincture, use it as soon as you remember. Continue to use it as directed by your doctor or on the package label.

What are the possible side effects of Benzoin?
All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. When used in small doses, no COMMON side effects have been reported with this product. Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur:
Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); fever; persistent or worsening irritation, pain, or redness.

What is the most important information I should know about Benzoin?
- Avoid getting Benzoin tincture in your eyes or nose.
- Do NOT exceed the recommended dose or use Benzoin tincture for more than 7 days without checking with your doctor.
- If your symptoms do not improve within 7 days, or if they get worse, contact your doctor or dentist.
- Benzoin tincture may be harmful if swallowed. Do not swallow Benzoin tincture. If you accidentally swallow Benzoin tincture seek medical attention or contact a poison control center immediately.
- Benzoin tincture is flammable. Keep it away from sparks, heat, and flames.
- Supervise CHILDREN younger than 12 years of age when they use Benzoin tincture.
- Benzoin tincture is not recommended for use in CHILDREN younger than 6 months of age. Safety and effectiveness in this age group have not been confirmed.
