Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose precautions

Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose is for intraocular use only. It is not meant for IM/IV injection.
There may be transient increased intraocular pressure following surgery because of preexisting glaucoma or due to the surgery itself. Thus, Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose should be removed from the anterior chamber at the end of the surgery. If the postoperative intraocular pressure increases above expected values, appropriate therapy should be administered.
