Neomeril indications

Perindopril is in a group of drugs called ACE inhibitors. ACE stands for angiotensin converting enzyme.

Perindopril is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and to prevent heart attack in people with coronary artery disease.

Neomeril interactions

Before taking perindopril, tell your doctor if you are taking any of the following drugs:

  • gold injections to treat arthritis;

  • lithium (Lithobid, Eskalith);

  • a potassium supplement such as K-Dur, Klor-Con;

  • salt substitutes that contain potassium; or

  • a diuretic (water pill).

    Neomeril side effects

    serious side effects:

  • feeling light-headed, fainting;

  • urinating more or less than usual, or not at all;

  • fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms;

  • pale skin, easy bruising or bleeding;

  • tired feeling, muscle weakness, and pounding or uneven heartbeats;

  • blisters in your mouth or on your skin;

  • swelling, rapid weight gain;

  • chest pain; or

  • jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes).

    Less serious side effects may include:

  • cough, stuffy nose;

  • muscle or joint pain;

  • rash, itching or flaky skin;

  • dizziness, drowsiness, headache;

  • sleep problems (insomnia); or

  • diarrhea, upset stomach.

    Neomeril contraindications

    this medicine is contraindicated in patients known to be hypersensitive to this product or to any other ACE inhibitor. this medicine is also contraindicated in patients with a history of angioedema related to previous treatment with an ACE inhibitor.
