Pregnancy of Spasdel in details

Spasdel has been assigned to pregnancy category C by the FDA. Animal studies have not been reported. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Spasdel is only recommended for use during pregnancy when there are no alternatives and benefit outweighs risk.

Spasdel breastfeeding

There are no data on the excretion of Spasdel into human milk. Some experts recommend cautious use of Spasdel during breast-feeding due to the sensitivity of the neonate to anticholinergic agents (probably because of immaturity of motor endplates). Spasdel is considered compatible with breast-feeding by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
