Topex-BR is useful in the treatment of cough associated with chronic bronchitis, emphysema and bronchial asthma.
Topex-BR dosage
Adult: 10ml tid; Child 3-6 yrs: 2.5-5ml; Child >6 yrs: 5-10ml. Both tid depending upon severity & response.
Topex-BR interactions
Concomitant use of Topex-BR with other sympathomimetic agents may lead to deleterious cardiovascular effects.
Topex-BR side effects
Topex-BR is generally well tolerated. Reported side effects aretremor, irritability, insomnia, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, bradycardia, palpitation, paradoxical bronchoconstriction.
Topex-BR contraindications
Topex-BR is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitvity to the ingredients, cardiac patients with associated arrhythmia, ischaemic heart disease and acute hypertensive patients, patients undergoing anaesthesia,patients on MAOI’s therapy, first trimester of pregnancy, acute porphyria, thyrotoxicosis.
