Coughwar indications

Coughwar is useful in the treatment of cough associated with chronic bronchitis, emphysema and bronchial asthma.

Coughwar dosage

Adult: 10ml tid; Child 3-6 yrs: 2.5-5ml; Child >6 yrs: 5-10ml. Both tid depending upon severity & response.

Coughwar interactions

Concomitant use of Coughwar with other sympathomimetic agents may lead to deleterious cardiovascular effects.

Coughwar side effects

Coughwar is generally well tolerated. Reported side effects aretremor, irritability, insomnia, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, bradycardia, palpitation, paradoxical bronchoconstriction.

Coughwar contraindications

Coughwar is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitvity to the ingredients, cardiac patients with associated arrhythmia, ischaemic heart disease and acute hypertensive patients, patients undergoing anaesthesia,patients on MAOI’s therapy, first trimester of pregnancy, acute porphyria, thyrotoxicosis.
