Uses of Spaverin 40 mg in details
Spaverin 40 mg is used to relieve spasm of smooth muscles in organs such as stomach and heart. It is used in the treatment of pain due to some condition such as ulcers of the intestine, irritable bowel syndrome, various diseases of intestines, pain due to gall stones and stones in the kidneys, pain due to various diseases of the liver and gall bladder, Spaverin 40 mg is also to treat certain types of headaches, for painful periods, and to relieve cervical spasm during labor.
Spaverin 40 mg description
Spaverin 40 mg (INN, also known as drotaverin) is an antispasmodic drug, structurally related to papaverine. Spaverin 40 mg is a selective inhibitor of phosphodiesterase 4, and has no anticholinergic effects. Spaverin 40 mg has been shown to possess dose-dependant analgesic effects in animal models. One small study has shown Spaverin 40 mg to be eliminated mainly non-renally.

The spasmolytic effect of Spaverin 40 mg hydrochloride develops within minutes without appreciable side effects. It causes no pathological alterations in the tissues of higher animals. No irritable effect on tissue. Embryotoxicity or teratogenic effects were not found.

Contraindications
Severe renal/hepatic/cardiac dysfunction. Porphyria.
