Postadoxin N (Postadoxin N) is an antihistamine that reduces the effects of natural chemical histamine in the body.
Postadoxin N is used to treat or prevent nausea, vomiting, and dizziness caused by motion sickness. It is also used to treat symptoms of vertigo (dizziness or spinning sensation) caused by disease that affects your inner ear.
Postadoxin N may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Postadoxin N indications
Postadoxin N is an antihistamine and anticholinergic. It works by blocking a chemical messenger in the brain, which helps to reduce or prevent vomiting.
Postadoxin N is used to treat or prevent nausea, vomiting, and dizziness caused by motion sickness. It is also used for vertigo (or dizziness) caused by certain inner ear problems.
How should I use Postadoxin N?
Use Postadoxin N chewable tablets as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.
- Take Postadoxin N chewable tablets by mouth with or without food.
- Postadoxin N chewable tablets may be chewed or swallowed whole.
- For prevention of motion sickness, take Postadoxin N chewable tablets at least 1 hour before activity or travel.
- Use Postadoxin N chewable tablets exactly as directed on the package, unless instructed differently by your doctor. Follow any warnings and precautions on the label.
- If you miss a dose of Postadoxin N chewable tablets and you are using it regularly, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

How to use Postadoxin N
Follow all directions on the product package. If your doctor has prescribed this medication, take it as directed. If you are uncertain about any of the information, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Take this medication by mouth with or without food. The chewable tablets should be chewed thoroughly before being swallowed.
The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Do not increase your dose or take this medication more often than directed.
To prevent motion sickness, take the first dose one hour before starting activity such as travel.

Vertigo
For the control of vertigo associated with diseases affecting the vestibular system, the recommended dose is 25 to 100 mg daily, in divided dosage, depending upon clinical response.
Motion Sickness
The initial dose of 25 to 50 mg of Postadoxin N should be taken one hour prior to embarkation for protection against motion sickness. Thereafter, the dose may be repeated every 24 hours for the duration of the journey.

There may be increased CNS depression when Postadoxin N is administered concurrently with other CNS depressants, including alcohol, tranquilizers, and sedatives.
Based on in-vitro evaluation, Postadoxin N is metabolized by CYP2D6. Therefore there is a possibility for a drug interaction between Postadoxin N and CYP2D6 inhibitors.

Some of the side effects that can occur with Postadoxin N may not need medical attention. As your body adjusts to the medicine during treatment these side effects may go away. Your health care professional may also be able to tell you about ways to reduce or prevent some of these side effects. If any of the following side effects continue, are bothersome or if you have any questions about them, check with your health care professional:

Drinking alcohol can increase certain side effects of Postadoxin N.
Cold or allergy medicine, sedatives, narcotic pain medicine, sleeping pills, muscle relaxers, and medicine for seizures, depression or anxiety can add to sleepiness caused by Postadoxin N.
