Bromycodex is useful in the treatment of cough associated with chronic bronchitis, emphysema and bronchial asthma.
Bromycodex dosage
Adult: 10ml tid; Child 3-6 yrs: 2.5-5ml; Child >6 yrs: 5-10ml. Both tid depending upon severity & response.
Bromycodex interactions
Concomitant use of Bromycodex with other sympathomimetic agents may lead to deleterious cardiovascular effects.
Bromycodex side effects
Bromycodex is generally well tolerated. Reported side effects aretremor, irritability, insomnia, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, bradycardia, palpitation, paradoxical bronchoconstriction.
Bromycodex contraindications
Bromycodex is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitvity to the ingredients, cardiac patients with associated arrhythmia, ischaemic heart disease and acute hypertensive patients, patients undergoing anaesthesia,patients on MAOI’s therapy, first trimester of pregnancy, acute porphyria, thyrotoxicosis.
