Motion sickness
Adult: 25-50 mg 1 hr before travelling and repeat 24 hrly if needed.
Child: Vertigo and vestibular disorders Adult: 25-100 mg daily in divided doses. Discontinue if there is no response after 1-2 wk of treatment. Child: A histamine H1 antagonist used in the treatment of motion sickness, vertigo, and nausea during pregnancy and radiation sickness. Child: The following drug interactions and/or related problems have been selected on the basis of their potential clinical significance (possible mechanism in parentheses where appropriate)—not necessarily inclusive (» = major clinical significance): Note: Combinations containing any of the following medications, depending on the amount present, may also interact with this medication. Alcohol or CNS depression–producing medications, other (concurrent use may potentiate the CNS depressant effects of either these medications or Postafen) Anticholinergics or other medications with anticholinergic activity (concurrent use with Postafen may potentiate anticholinergic effects) Apomorphine (prior administration of Postafen may decrease the emetic response to apomorphine) Along with their useful effects all medicines can cause unwanted side effects, which usually improve as your body adjusts to the new medicine. Speak with your doctor or pharmacist if any of the following side effects continue or become troublesome. Common side-effects - these affect less than 1 in 10 people who take this medicine: Drowsiness. blurred vision. Dry mouth. Diarrhoea, tummy pain, nausea (feeling sick). Constipation. Headache, difficulty urinating (passing water). Other side-effects include stiffness or problems with movement, dizziness, confusion, fast or fluttering heartbeat, shortness of breath, mood changes, difficulty sleeping and shakiness. If you experience these or any other worrying symptoms, which you think may be due to this medicine, discuss them with your doctor or pharmacist.
